Kemmelberg

Leisure Introduction

The landscape of the Kemmelberg is presented in the child-friendly visitor centre, 'Het Heuvelland'.

Visitors can savour a gastronomic treat in the hostellerie at the top of the hill, and stay overnight in perfect peace and comfort.

The Belvédère tower provides a fantastic view of the hill fort and the 'B & B with grill & resto' will take care of any hunger pangs. A number of catering options are available in the area, along with various wine estates that can be visited.

A whole series of well-marked walking and cycle routes are available across the surrounding area.

Cycling enthusiasts can either cycle up the steep slopes of the Kemmelberg themselves, or offer support during one of the cycling races that visit the Kemmelberg, specifically in the spring.

The nearby village of Dranouter, a few kilometres from the Kemmelberg, hosts a stellar music festival every year, at the beginning of August.

In addition to museums, there are many wartime relics to visit, specifically covering the First World War.
